Thank you for your time and hopefully I am not the only one experiencing this. I have been only testing the Mac version of the RDP, not sure if Windows to Windows RDP is affected by this.

I wasn't able to find anything online in regards to the topic so decided to post here.ĭo you have any suggestions, except updating Windows, Microsoft RDP Application and macOS to the latest version, making sure the printer redirection is enabled in the RDP app, restarting both computers, re-adding the local printers, reinstalling printer drivers on both the local and remote computers, manually trying to connect the ports to a new printer device (Fails as it requires an interactive session to add a local printer) or even swapping out the perfectly working printer? Once installed, follow the steps below to configure the required connection settings.

Has anyone experienced the same issue with local printer redirection after the latest patch, which locked the Print Spooler Service? However none of the printers are redirected. We have tried removing the printers from the local computers and adding back again, reinstalling, updating both the macOS and the Microsoft RDP Application, with adding the computers manually to the RDP App via IP and Hostname, and enabling printer redirection and generally redirection of all devices.

Which leads me to believe that the recent patch for the Print Spooler service is responsible for the failed redirection of printers.

The option for redirecting printers and devices in connection settings is selected and any printers should be redirected, however about a week ago, exactly when the Urgent Security Patch for the Print Spooler Service was released, the redirection of local printers has stopped, not only for me but for friends and clients as well, all of us running different environments, systems, printers and company domains. Recently I have noticed that a lot of people who are using the Microsoft Remote Desktop Application for Mac, no matter the version of macOS or Microsoft RDP App, whenever trying to redirect local printers that are perfectly working on the Mac computer, to a Windows 10 machine nothing actually happens and local printers working on the Mac are not redirected to the Windows 10 Machine.
